Oral history interview with Richard Clarke, 1973 March 8.

In this interview, Clarke tells in detail how the successful 1949 strike over welfare benefits helped unify the Amalgamated Lithographers of America in Canada. He describes how the mergers with the Photoengravers and the Bookbinders affected the Canadian Lithographers and Photoengravers International Union with its system of inter-cooperation between locals. Clarke traces his long and close association with President Kenneth Brown and details the workings of the Finance Committee and the Photoengravers Pension Committee.
